Rabbi Chaim Slavaticki was born and raised in Antwerp, Belgium where his father served as chief Rabbi. After completing his yeshiva studies and graduating from the Rabbinical College of America, he spent time in New Haven, Connecticut where he taught Talmudic studies to young scholars.
Chayale grew up in Brooklyn, New York, several blocks from the Worldwide Chabad Headquarters. She received a strong Jewish education which included 4 years in a yeshiva high school and a year studying in Israel. As a teenager and young adult, she seized every opportunity to enhance Jewish education wherever she was – working in summer camps, leading youth programs, and teaching middle school.
In 2011, Rabbi Chaim and Chayale moved to Fort Lauderdale where they founded the Las Olas Chabad Jewish Center. Over the next few years, they became aware of segments of the community whose multi-faceted needs were going unmet. This led them to establish The Friendship Circle, an organization that offers programming, community and life skills training to special needs children and adults, and Israel Heart to Heart, which helps struggling IDF veterans cope with trauma and integrate back into civilian life.
In addition to overseeing the daily operations of these institutions, they serve as spiritual leaders to the Las Olas Jewish community. Their days are spent giving Torah classes, leading services and counseling locals on a wide variety of issues. They are also the proud parents of 6 charming and spirited kids.
